Empower people to make decisions about their own personalised care
We can go further than we think with personalised care. The more we partner with voluntary, community or social enterprise (VCSE) organisations and listen to our patients, the more we will be able to shape our services and approach to what really matters to people. This means every service needs patient reported outcome measures. People who use services will be able to work in and shape those services as part of their recovery. This will form a new relationship and partnership of care.
Our training in shared decision making will be at its most important with those who are most vulnerable in our care. This means that in the care of those people who may lack capacity our approach to this is particularly important. Also, for people who are approaching the end of life, we only get one chance to get this right for them. It is important that in at least these 2 areas of care, we excel.
